Under the patronage of Dr. Haider al-Abadi, a celebration was held on the third anniversary of the victory over terrorism, which is on December 10, with the presence of many national, political and military personalities.

The ceremony was opened by playing the national anthem and reading Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve victory, then Dr. Al-Abadi, who was at that difficult stage in Iraq's history the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, spoke about the war against terrorism as an existential war, as it was not just a struggle, but a target to destroy Iraq and the region, but the fatwa of the supreme religious authority of Sistani, volunteer fighters, logistical support, and alliances that met with us to protect their interests, as well as the national spirit of the Iraqi was able to turn defeat into victory, and face the corrupt ideology of ISIS.

Dr. Al-Abadi recalled what was achieved in his mandate of the authority’s demands in defeating terrorism, eliminating sectarianism and preventing division, and despite the collapse of oil prices and the empty treasury, all dues and salaries were paid on time.

Al-Abadi warned of the repetition of the 2014 security, sectarian and ethnic catastrophe, calling for cooperation to find a common formula for everyone to serve the citizen and put the state's interests first, and that is to make a fair elections.

After that, Minister of Defense Jumah Inad spoke on behalf of the wounded and martyrs of Iraq at that stage, indicating that the military expectations suggested that the war would continue for ten years, but the defensive capabilities of the Iraqi military stopped the progress of the terrorist gangs.

The sacrificed Iraqi woman had a speech at the ceremony when Mrs. Ansam Manuel took the stage and indicated that the Iraqi woman was the first victim of terrorism, but in 2017 the dignity and honor have returned, so we must learn the lesson by taking care of the competent, courageous and wise leader.

The celebration was concluded with a patriotic song and honoring the fighters of the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Police, the Intelligence, the fighters of the Popular Mobilization, the Tribal Mobilization, Peshmerga Forces and journalists. The distinguished sheikhs of the tribes also presented the Arabic gown to Dr. Al-Abadi as the leader of victory, which he wore for its great symbolism.
